Where's The Warm Weather

(S/S '14)
You can probably tell by the title of this post that I'm sick of this cold weather. It's officially Spring and I've been told that it might snow next week. What is going on?! Winter was cool and all, but I'm ready to bust out my shorts. Until then, I will have to stick to wearing spring colored winter apparel. My first outfit for this "season" is quite simple, yet shows that I make an effort in what I wear. I'm in love with this Polo Ralph Lauren sweatshirt. It's very soft and light weight, making it the perfect piece to be worn on those chilly summer nights. I also debuted my new low top All Star Converses that are surprisingly more comfortable than I expected. I needed to add a dash of color to the very neutral colors of the outfit and the shoes were a perfect fit. Let me know what you think!

RIP Winter 13/14

(F/W 13/14)
Daylight Savings was yesterday meaning winter is FINALLY coming to an end! It most likely being the last chance to wear it, I decided to wear one of the darkest outfits I could find in my wardrobe. Even though I prefer the colors of Spring and Summer, I am going to miss some of the dark shades I wore this season. I pieced together my favorite sweater and jacket to make this outfit in salute to the good times I had this winter. I'm not a huge fan of the jeans, but the rest of the outfit I really enjoyed wearing. RIP Winter 13/14.

Casually Denim

(F/W 13/14)
Today was one of those random warm days that we seem to be having this winter and I decided to take advantage of it and brighten up my outfit choice. Not feeling very creative, I put together this casual denim on denim ensemble that can be worn by pretty much anyone. I added the maroon sneakers to give the outfit a pop of color. It was perfect for a day like this because it was not too thick and if the weather realized it's mistake and decided to hit us with the 30 degree weather we've had the past few days, I could zip up, button up my two jackets and throw on my hood and be able to bare it. It was a nice day and I'm sure I will miss it when I'm gabbing at my North Face during this Snow Storm we're supposed to be having tomorrow. That's VA weather for ya!

Infinate Posibilities

 (F/W 13/14)
The other day I was cleaning my room and I found my infinity scarf laying on my chair. I was reminded of the constant struggle I face when I wear it. The length is not long enough to droop around my neck when I wear it the traditional way (the way its worn in this set here) and I find myself feeling constricted. Not wanting to have to give it away, I started messing around with it to see if it was possible to wear it another way and alas I came up with this.....

I'm not sure if this is an already discovered alternate way of wearing an infinity scarf, but I personally have never seen anyone wear it this way. It felt so warm around my shoulders and back. I also liked the way the scarf drooped onto my back. I definitely recommend trying it and if you know of any other ways to wear a woven infinity scarf, I am all ears!

The Best Of Both Worlds

(F/W 13/14)
So I decided to try something a little different than what I'm used to with this outfit. Added a little street style to the archive of styles I've tried and I really like it. The only thing I would have changed were the color of my shoes. I would have preferred a solid black sneaker to the grey and black elephant print Vans I was wearing, but I still like this look. I really like the sweatshirt as well, “Ratchet with a little bit of class”. I always wanted a faux Chanel shirt and when I found this sweatshirt I just had to have it! Let me know what you think, hit or miss?

My Outfit Mishap

(F/W 13/14)
So I wasn't going to post this because I didn't particularly like the outfit I was wearing in this set, but I felt that this would be a great reminder to myself to always stay on top of things and not to let my laziness get the best of me. I slacked off the night before and didn't plan my outfit ahead of time, woke up late, saw that it was cloudy and about to rain in any minute, put together this ensemble and ran out because I was losing day light and time. To me, this outfit has great individual pieces but they do not belong together.

Outfit Pieces:
  • - Beanie - Grey
  • - Scarf - H&M - Army Green
  • - Denim Jacket - Levi's - Medium Denim Wash
  • - Sweater - Old Navy - Maroon, Grey, Navy
  • - Jeans - Old Navy - Black
  • - Boots - Steve Madden - Dark Brown
  • - Beaded Bracelet - Black
  • - Watch - Tommy Hilfiger - Black

My Personal Critiques:
  • The different shades of color are too drastic. I didn't realize how bright the denim jacket was compared to the rest of the outfit, as well as the hat. I should have made the whole outfit similar shades.
  • I would have preferred to have worn sneakers instead of boots with this outfit, the look I was going for was more of a casual look and the boots just don't seem to compliment the style.
  • I would have chosen different pants to wear. The style of the jean didn't complement the outfit, I would have preferred a skinnier fit.
Let me know what you think? Do you agree with my points or is this an outfit you could find yourself wearing?
